Garrett grew up in Calgary and started working in kitchens at the age of 15. After high school he decided to pursue his passion for cooking professionally, and worked in various establishments in Calgary while attending culinary school at SAIT. At the age of 20 he made a move to Kelowna to work at Mission Hill Winery in the Okanagan. He worked at the winery for 4 seasons, where he discovered a passion for seasonal cooking and working with local producers. From there, made a move to Montreal to work at Bouillon Bilk
and dive into Montreal's vibrant culinary scene. After a 1-year stint out east, Garrett returned to the Okanagan to take on the position of Head Chef at the Terrace Restaurant at Mission Hill. In 2019 he returned to Calgary with his wife and two daughters and joined the Concorde Group, ultimately landing a position as the opening head chef at Major Tom. In his current role he helps oversee operations for Concorde's Premium & Specialty Brands.

Garrett believes that good food comes from passionate chefs, armed with knowledge and quality products, which is something he strives for everyday.
